The BIP O-Twist-Marker S / R consists of two components – an applicator and a marking clip that lies in stretched form in the distal end of the application cannula.
The clip is made of braided Nitinol (nickel-titanium shape memory wire) and forms a ring when placed in tissue.
The compact applicator is made of plastic and has a cannula made of medical grade stainless steel, with sharp tip and centimeter depth marks for direct visual assessment of insertion depth. The handle is secured against unintentional actuation by a release protector.
Type S is the straight version, which is intended for direct advancement through the tissue.
Type R is provided with a radius at the distal end and is intended for application through the existing sheath or biopsy cannulas with a lateral window of a vacuum biopsy system.
A depth stopper (6 mm) made of silicone can be used for pre-adjustment of application depth.
Benefits
- Universal application for diagnostic procedures – ultrasound and X-ray (mammography, computer tomography CT).
- Twisted, ring-shaped clip element enables favorable reflection and visibility in ultrasound.
- Secure anchorage in the tissue with minimal dislocation.
- Universal use following conventional core or vacuum biopsy procedures, independent of biopsy system.
- Applicator with sharp cannula for direct percutaneous application of marking clip.
